The Pakistani film industry during its revival of cinema have released movies that bring forth the picturesque beauty of the country. From Gilgit-Baltistan to Kashmir and other areas, the film makers have highlighted the unexplored areas of the country. Libas Now, lists down five movies that capture the beauty of Pakistan.
Janaan
The 2016 romantic comedy; produced under the IRK Films and Munir Hussain Films banners is one film that does full justice in capturing the stunning beauty of Pakistan. The movie was majorly shot in the Swat Valley, located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of the country. The scenic landscapes of Swat complimented the bright bold colours of the films’ cinematography.
Chalay Thay Saath
Released in 2017, Chalay Thay Saath was produced by Beenish Umer and directed by Umer Adil. The breath-taking views of Hunza in the movie looked more attractive as they depicted Instagram style shots. It gives the audience plenty to admire as it encapsulates the scenic views of the mountains delightfully, and makes us want to plan a trip to Hunza ASAP!
Moor
The film directed by Jami was set in Karachi and the Pashtun belt of Balochistan displayed the stunning landscape of Pakistan. From the snowy mountains to the hustle bustle of Karachi city, the director managed to aptly capture the grandeur of the vast lands of the dry province.
Balu Mahi
With Balu Mahi we drive along with Osman Khalid Butt and Ainy Jaffri through the simpler side of Northern Pakistan. The lush green mountains, valleys and crystal-clear water bodies were beautifully elevated in the background, as the two lovers made us want to visit the Northern areas to find our own love story.
Dukhtar
The 2014 drama-thriller about child marriage was a visual treat for the viewers. The visually spectacular film was shot mostly in the Gilgit-Baltistan areas; which included locations like Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghizer and Kallar Kahar, which made Pakistan look absolutely splendid. The movie takes the viewers on a journey with the main characters, as they travel through isolated landscapes surrounded by mountains and fears and finally, takes refuge in a bustling market in Lahore city where the crowd of people itself becomes a shelter.
