Eid Films to Look Out For This Year
Ghabrana Nahi Hai

This film takes a unique angle, focusing on Saba Qamar’s character, a social media influencer–turned actor who is fighting for justice for women. This fight for justice is, however, often extreme and questionable, leading her to dangerous paths. And who doesn’t enjoy a love triangle between three stars, Saba Qamar, Zahid Ahmed and Syed Jibran!
Dum Mastam

In this film, Imran Ashraf and Amar Khan play childhood sweethearts, determined to hold onto their love, while trying to navigate the ups and downs of the music industry. Both unwilling to let go of either their career or their relationship, the film looks like a fun story of drama, romance and tragedy.
Zindagi Tamasha

Directed by Sarmad Khoosat, this movie shows the impact of modern day cancel culture. Arif Hassan plays the role of a devout Muslim and poet who has gained recognition writing Islamic poetry. However, this all begins to go downhill when a video of him dancing at a wedding goes viral. With the world turning against him, only his bedridden wife, played by Samiya Mumtaz, stands with him. Ironically, the film’s release itself was pushed forward from 2020 and nearly canceled for being critical of Pakistani ulema. We’re hoping it will be released soon!
Tere Bajre Di Rakhi

This film marks a revival of Punjabi cinema in Pakistan. Directed by Syed Noor, this is the debut film for Tik Tok star, Jannat Mirza. She will be sharing the screen with Abdullah Khan, Saima Noor and Babar Ali. This action-packed, comedy-tragedy-drama is not one to miss this Eid!
Chakkar

Yasir Nawaz’s ‘Chakkar’ tells the story of a murder mystery. Ahsan Khan and Neelam Muneer will share the screen once more for this film, with Neelam playing a dual role. A film all about the glamour, intrigue and backstabbing within the movie industry, and a detective who is uncovering it all, this film surely looks like it will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Parde Mein Rehne Do

With a star-studded cast, ‘Parde Mein Rehne Do’ is a romantic-comedy, with the added bonus of discussing important social issues. The film’s leading couple, played by Hania Aamir and Ali Rehman Khan, show how to navigate a relationship while dealing with mounting social pressures.
