Scalini, the upscale, Italian restaurant, originally opened up in Chelsea, London in 1988 and gained a reputation for attracting A-listers (like billionaire heiresses and footballers). Recently opened in Dubai, food blogger and globe trotter Divya Burman gives the eatery a 10/10!
“Scalini Dubai aims to replicate the authentic Italian atmosphere and food from Scalini London, only in a much more alluring style”
Scalini is an Italian family restaurant that has been imported from one of the posh areas in London where it has been extremely successful for decades. The Dubai version, which is far more capacious at the Four Seasons Resort, aims to replicate the authentic Italian atmosphere and food from Scalini London, only in a much more alluring style with a beautiful outdoor terrace which even through the hot summers of Dubai remains cool and breezy.
“In the non-vegetarian dishes, my favourites were the veal limone, their Dover sole and the carpaccio”
Several team members have come over from the UK to assist in the opening of the Dubai branch, which means the service is pretty much impeccable. Some of their signature dishes include the spaghetti served in a parmesan wheel and topped with shaved truffle and the Burrata con Datterini which is light, soft and simple inside and tastes great with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.
“Scalini boasts the best lobster pasta possible and this can be made with any pasta you desire”
Scalini boasts the best lobster pasta possible and this can be made with any pasta you desire. I had mine with fettuccine and it was amazing. In the non-vegetarian dishes, my favourites were the veal limone, their Dover sole and the carpaccio.
