DIY Hydrating Mask

Ingredients: Aloe Vera leaf and Rose Water

I am not someone who is super into DIY skincare so I usually tend to keep it basic. The two natural products that have always worked for me are Aloe Vera Gel and Rose Water. I’ll either mix the two or apply the gel straight out of the leaf and then spritz some rose water on top. This is an ideal recipe to hydrate your skin and fade away blemishes. It also helps in minimizing active acne and spots. Some nights I will switch my active ingredient products and moisturisers and only apply these two things and wake up with breakouts calmed down and skin feeling refreshed with reduced redness.

DIY Nourishing Face Mask

Ingredients: Yoghurt, Almond Oil and Lemon Juice

On days, when I feel like my skin could use some TLC, I make a quick mask with yoghurt, almond oil and sometimes add honey or a dash of lemon juice. I leave it on for however long – until I’m ready to take it off (at least 10 minutes) and it makes me feel super nourished and taken care off.

DIY Facial Scrub

Ingredients: Gram Flour, Turmeric, Lemon Juice and Milk

This entirely natural facial scrub not only exfoliates the skin but also evens out the skin tone. Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth paste and apply all over the face and neck, leave it on for 10 minutes until it starts drying and then gently exfoliate with luke warm water. Your skin will definitely feel refreshed after that cleansing.

DIY Skin Toner

Ingredients: Rose water, Glycerin and Lemon Juice

Getting a good crimson tan is everybody’s dream but I personally hate it when I get a tan because it comes with tan lines. Mostly whenever I travel I get tan lines on my feet due to shoes and arms because of the half exposed skin, so this unevenness in my tan really bothers me. The solution to these tan lines is a home remedy my mother taught me and it’s a life saver. It’s basically a serum made with three ingredients, equal amounts of Rose water, glycerin and then add 1/3 of lemon. Pour all of it in a spray bottle and it’s good to use.

DIY Lip Scrub

Ingredients: Sugar and Squeezed Lemon

Mix the two ingredients to form a paste. Use a toothbrush and gently apply the paste on your lips and brush in an anti-clockwise direction for 2 minutes. Leave the paste on for another minute. Remove the paste from your lips with lukewarm water and you’ll immediately have soft, plump lips.

DIY Teeth Whitening

Ingredients: Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

Mix Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide to make a thick paste. Apply on your teeth with a toothbrush and rub gently for 2 or 3 minutes. Don’t leave the mixture on for too long as baking soda might be too harsh and remove the teeth enamel.
