11 TV shows we are looking forward to this fall

In this day and age, one can never run out of TV shows to watch, thanks to all the streaming platforms that have made our life easier. As we welcome fall, here are some of the upcoming TV shows that you have to add on your to-watch list. 

1. The Midnight Club 

The show made its debut on Netflix on October 7th, 2022. Based on the book by YA author, Christopher Pike, it is a period play set in 1994, focusing on 8 members of a hospice of terminally ill teenagers. It is a story about these teenagers navigating through life, struggling to fit in, to find love and a purpose in life. 

2. Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities

The series is an episodic anthology of Guillermo del Toro’s personally curated short-stories. It will feature eight unique horror stories that challenge the classical horror genre. Two of the episodes are original works by del Toro himself, while the others are written and directed by various filmmakers. The format is perfect for anyone with a limited attention span and time. It will be released over the course of four days, with the first two episodes releasing on October 25th. The finale will be released just before Halloween on October 28th.

3. Wednesday 

The upcoming Netflix show directed by Tim Burton is based on the character of Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. It is about Wednesday’s life and journey at the Nevermore Academy where she finds herself in the middle of a mysterious murder investigation. The show hits the streaming platform on November 23rd.

4. The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself

The show is based on a YA-trilogy series, Half Bad written by Sally Green. It focuses on the story of a 16-year-old Nathan Byrn, an illegitimate son of a dangerous witch. It is about his will to survive and beat all odds with dark-humour and a romantic roller coaster. The series will land on Netflix on October 28th.

5. 1899

1899 is an upcoming German epic period mystery-horror series created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar set to premiere on Netflix on November 17th. The showrunners revealed that 1899 will be multi-lingual, with each actor speaking in their native language throughout the series

6. Mismatched 2

Netflix’s coming of age romantic drama web-series left its audience on a cliff hanger last season and people cannot wait to find out what happens next. With a lot more drama, the story will focus on how Dimple and Rishi navigate the rough terrains of frayed friendships, new love interests, broken promises, academic stress, and shocking rivalries. The new season will premiere on the streaming platform on October 14th.

7. The Playlist

The upcoming Netflix miniseries focuses on how Swedish tech entrepreneur Daniel Ek and his partner Martin Lorentzon launched Spotify and changed the music industry.  The series that premieres on October 13th will show you how Spotify became one of the world’s leading music services.
 

8. I Am a Stalker

The upcoming docu-series will feature in-depth interviews with convicted stalkers and the victims. It will show how their actions affected these victims and changed their lives. If you enjoy crime documentaries, this one is a must-watch. It releases on Netflix on October 28th.

9. Blockbuster (Season 1)

Blockbuster is an upcoming American workplace comedy series created by Vanessa Ramos. It focuses on how a group of co-workers and their small-town community come together to save the last Blockbuster Video store in the entire world. It premieres on Netflix on November 3rd

10. The Crown (Season 5)

The Netflix show focusing on the lives of The Royal Family has gained massive popularity ever since the first season released. Not only will it educate you on the history of the family, it will also take you through the drama, because real life drama wasn’t enough for everyone. If you are a newbie, you are bound to get hooked to the show and binge-watch the series just in time for the fifth season which is set to release on November 9th, with a whole new cast.

11. The Peripheral 

It is an upcoming American sci-fi show set in the future where technology has altered the reality of the society. The story revolves around Flynne, a young woman with potential who is stuck in a dead-end town and tries to keep her family from falling apart. Things only get interesting when she finds a virtual reality-esque headset that changes her life for the better or worse, you have to watch it to find out. The show releases on Amazon Prime on October 21st.
