Summer ’20 Trends Edit to Inspire Your At-Home Style

Fashion may have been partially cancelled but that doesn’t mean one can’t make it work in quarantine. Trends for S/S ’20 may not be seen on the street but they can easily be worked into our at-home style. Check out the major trends for the season and jazz up your quarantine look.

Minty Fresh:

No colour suits summer better than a minty variety of green. The refreshing shade was seen all over S/S ’20 runways, including Ulla Johnson, Berluti to Jacquemus. Choose this shade for loungewear or an easy breezy Eid outfit to translate the trend into your quarantine life.

Haute off the Tropics:

Loud and leafy, Valentino’s S/S ’20 collection was all about tropical prints that seem to make a comeback every alternate year. We spotted many local small business selling cutesy PJ sets in one of the hautest prints of the season. Check out SlumberGram on Instagram for a few tropical PJ picks.

Bohomania:

Etro is a name in fashion that has always maintained a boho-esque aesthetic. The vibe was seen at several runways for S/S ’20 that looked like a fashion forward version of That ‘70s Show. The trend can be easily incorporated in your quarantine style with custom stitched ruffle details and flowy silhouettes – reach out (maintaining safe distance protocols, of course) to a seamstress or tailor and help support low income groups in these trying times.

Tie-Dye For:

The popular ‘90s that started majorly trending in 2019 continued to inspire designers for S/S ’20. Since we are all in quarantine, why not try tie-dying a plain white cotton tee as an activity that can be both fun and fashionable.

Knitty Gritties:

For readers resting or nestled in hilly areas up north, the ‘90s knit is your cup of warm tea for Summer ‘20. The nostalgic and cosy design is trending again, so maybe dig up a withering light sweater packed away in an old suit case (we all have one of those neglected treasure trunks that can surprise us with a forgotten find).
